Carriage Mounted Spreader Bar
Carriage Mounted Spreader Bar - As the name implies, this particular mast has 3 sections. The outside section mounts firmly to the lift truck. The next intermediate part telescopes within the outside section. The innermost part telescopes inside of the intermediate part. The inner part and the middle part both elevate while the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides within the internal part. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas such as doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This particular mast is often equipped with a center cylinder to allow the fork carriage raise a few distance before the mast sections start lengthening.
The 2 Stage Mast has two sections. The internal part telescopes in the outer and elevates as the lift cylinders extend. The external part of this mast model is attached to the lift truck. The fork carriage is actually located inside the internal part. This mast type has a taller lowered height compared to an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
